Frequently asked questions
Straight answers for users and coaches: what CoachBuk does today, what stays private, and how chapters, Wrapped, coach accounts, and billing work.
About CoachBuk
What is CoachBuk in one sentence?
CoachBuk helps you find a fitness coach, track goals and sessions, and keep your progress in named chapters so every pause, coach switch, and return keeps its context.
How is this different from a directory or a booking app?
Directories help you browse profiles. Booking apps help you reserve time. CoachBuk helps you understand what happened after the session: which goals moved, which coach helped, and how that work fits into your wider training story.
That means CoachBuk is useful before you choose a coach, while you are working with one, and when you return after a break. The value grows because your recorded effort keeps its context.
Can I book classes through CoachBuk?
CoachBuk currently focuses on helping users find coaches, send enquiries, manage goals, log 1:1 sessions, and build a clear record of their progress.
Its strongest job today is making coaching work easier to understand and remember after the session.
Is CoachBuk only for personal training?
CoachBuk is for goal-led fitness coaching, including personal training, strength and conditioning, running, boxing, sport-specific coaching, wellness, and similar coach-led work.
The important thing is that you are working with a real coach toward goals you want to track over time.
For Users
Do my session logs belong to me?
Yes. Your session logs, reflections, goals, and chapter names are your record.
When you log a 1:1 session, you choose what to share with your coach: ratings, reflection, both, or neither. The trust rule is simple: CoachBuk should reflect back what you recorded, not expose private notes by surprise.
What happens if I pause for months and come back?
Your history stays in place. Your goals, session logs, coaches, and chapters remain part of your record.
When you come back, CoachBuk can help you continue the same chapter or start a new one, so the pause becomes context rather than a reset.
What if I switch coaches?
Your record stays with you. Earlier sessions, goals, and chapters remain part of your history when you switch coaches.
If you choose to share context with a new coach, they can understand where you have been and what you are working toward, without making your private notes public or forcing you to explain everything from scratch.
How do you match me to a coach?
CoachBuk starts with your goals and compares them with each coach's specialties and available coaching signals.
If you have at least three active goals, CoachBuk can show a Match %. With fewer goals, you can still browse coaches while the app waits for enough detail to score fit honestly. The aim is to make the reason behind each match visible.
Do I need to verify my email before using the app?
No. You can continue into the app after creating your account.
You may still be asked to verify your email because it helps with account security and recovery. The main onboarding flow continues after account creation.
Wrapped and Chapters
What is a chapter?
A chapter is a named season of your training, such as "Half marathon prep", "Coming back after injury", or "Building consistency".
Sessions and completed goals can sit inside a chapter, so your progress is remembered as part of a season rather than a flat list of workouts. The same hard session means something different in a comeback chapter than it does in race prep.
What is CoachBuk Wrapped?
CoachBuk Wrapped is a private recap of your coaching year: chapters, sessions, goals, coaches, and the patterns that showed up across the work you logged.
It shows the goals, chapters, and coach context behind the work you logged, so you can see your effort in context.
Is my Wrapped public?
No. Wrapped is private by default.
It is built from your logged history and is meant first for your own reflection. Private notes and reflections stay private unless you choose to share them.
Can a coach see my chapters?
Only if you choose to share them, you have an active coaching relationship, and the coach has CoachBuk Live access.
Even then, a coach sees approved chapter context and shared session evidence, not your private reflections unless you choose to share those in a session log.
When does my first chapter start?
Your first chapter starts when you name it during onboarding.
It becomes more useful as you add goals and log sessions, because CoachBuk can then connect your work to the season you are in.
For Coaches
Why join CoachBuk as a coach?
CoachBuk helps coaches turn specialties, session feedback, and shared client context into proof signals users can understand.
Your profile can connect your specialties, client enquiries, session feedback, and shared client context, so users get a clearer reason to trust you before they commit.
What does the founding coach offer cover?
The founding offer gives the first 100 numbered CoachBuk Live coaches a £19.99/month price. The standard CoachBuk Live price is £29.99/month.
CoachBuk Live is the paid coach plan. Approval is separate: it controls whether a coach can be shown to users, while the subscription controls paid coach features.
What does CoachBuk Live include?
CoachBuk Live is the paid coach plan for coaches who need deeper profile room and stronger client context.
It is built around more room to show your specialties, class-related tools, more outreach capacity, advanced analytics, and richer client context where the client has chosen to share it.
Can I list classes without subscribing?
Class listing currently sits inside CoachBuk Live.
That keeps class-related coach value in the same plan as profile depth, outreach capacity, and richer client context.
Where do coaches manage billing?
Coaches manage billing on the website.
After coach login, the coach account hub is where subscription management, billing, class-related actions, and app-linked account setup live.
Coach Profile Photos
Can coaches upload profile photos?
Coach profile photos are being prepared through a reviewed rollout.
Until the review flow is fully ready, profiles may use initials or existing approved imagery.
What kind of photo will CoachBuk support?
CoachBuk will support clear coach portraits where the person is easy to recognise.
The standard is simple: professional, accurate, and useful for someone deciding whether to enquire.
Why are coach photos reviewed?
Because profile photos affect trust. Users should not have to judge coaches from misleading, low-quality, or inappropriate images.
Review keeps coach profiles consistent and makes the fallback simple: approved photos appear publicly, and unapproved photos stay hidden.
